The Sunshine Flyer is a partnership between Academy Bus, Empire Coach Line and Transportation Management Services


The Sunshine Flyer leverages Academy’s and Empire’s decades of successful bus operations in the Orlando market, coupled with Transportation Management Services’ decades of experience in the major event transportation space to bring the premiere destination shuttle experience to the Orlando area.


Our team’s deep first-hand knowledge of the greater Orlando area, Orlando International Airport, and The Walt Disney World® area properties are embedded into a uniquely fun 1920’s rail experience to ensure that our shuttle operations are second to none.

Academy is a duly authorized GOAA ground transportation operator, which provides regular service at the airport under its N permit. It is recognized as the largest privately owned bus company in the United States. Backed by more than 2,000 employees, 1,100 buses, 21 full-service facilities and over 50 years of experience, Academy provides the finest ground transportation service in the country.

Academy possesses extensive experience providing guest and employee busing services for Walt Disney World® in Central Florida. Academy operates 24/7 shuttle services for Disney’s College Housing campus from Flamingo Crossings Village to locations throughout Walt Disney World property.

Empire is a duly authorized GOAA ground transportation operator, which provides regular service at the airport under its N permit. Empire Coach Line, Inc. (ECL) was established in 2005 and is headquartered in Orlando. ECL has provided a variety of ground transportation services since 1983 through predecessor companies. ECL currently employs 75 full time and 15 part-time vehicle operators and operates a fleet of over 40 vehicles. ECL is a leading provider of passenger ground transportation services in Florida.


ECL’s headquarters is just minutes from MCO and provides support and oversight within all functional areas including operations, maintenance, safety and finance, while management personnel provides additional support to local team members. The maintenance staff includes technicians and support staff located in the Central Florida maintenance facility. The Company has safety professionals to ensure strict compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements. In addition, experienced Driver Training Instructors (“DTI’s”) regularly provide driver training to both newly employed and experienced drivers using a thorough training curriculum developed in conjunction with third party safety consultants.

TMS has organized transportation for some of the largest events in the United States and abroad. This experience spans over 2,000 customers and over 6,000 events around the country and the world. Over the last 26 years, TMS has organized transportation plans for clients such as the National Basketball Association, United States Golf Association, Major League Soccer, FIFA, FEMA and numerous other high-profile clients.
